The old site from last year is still up and running at Dog Park 2009
The second year of At the Dog Park with a different format. This year I would like to look more at dog behavior at the park and what it might mean. There are plenty of books on the subject of dog behavior. Even though there are many research studies and books on dogs and their body language we have yet to nail it down to individual dogs but generally the studies on dog behavior have agreed on some of the dogs body language. I would like to look at dog behavior before possibly looking at dog training this year. There are many methods of training dogs. A lot of controversy surrounds the methods used by different dog trainers. Before stepping in to this maze of training it might first be best to look at how dogs react with other dogs and humans.
Here are a couple of good books and a DVD to start:
The Language of Dogs by Sarah Kalnajs\ 2 DVDS
Canine Body Language by Brenda Aloff
Canine Behavior: A Photo-Illustrated Handbook by Barbara Handeiman
